What inspired you to become a member of the Virtual Advisory Board community?

I am passionate about further honing my board skills and learning from experts and peers with experience in the boardroom space. VAB certainly affords such opportunities.

In what area do you feel board advisors can add the most value for Boards of Directors (BoDs) and executive teams?

I believe this relates to overall governance practices and supporting a strong vision for a company or business. Good advisors can support boards in defining a company’s vision, purpose and values while also coaching executives in management leadership styles and approaches.

What would be your dream company/organisation to work with as a board advisor/NED?

I would be keen to work with consumer-facing companies; ones interested in transforming the field of play and adding value for people and for the planet. Of course, they would do this while adding value for shareholders alongside a broader group of stakeholders.

What book or podcast would you recommend to VAB members that might improve their skills in corporate governance, board advisory or boosting board-to-executive team communications?

I would suggest High Performance Boards: Improving and Energizing your Governance from author Didier Cossin.
