What inspired you to become a member of the Virtual Advisory Board community?
After more than 20 years of gathering leadership experience, mainly doing in-house consultancy for businesses, I'm thinking to move to my first board role in the coming months. As I'm looking for this initial board opportunity, I would be happy to talk to, and meet with, experienced board members in the VAB community to get tips from them and learn and acquire new skills.
In what area do you feel board advisors can add the most value for Boards of Directors (BoDs) and executive teams?
Based on my own experience, I would say that board advisors have a valuable impact on market regulation attached to the company’s core business.
What would be your dream company/organisation to work with as a board advisor/NED?
As it will be my first board role, I would say that a startup could be a good fit for me to start.
What book or podcast would you recommend to VAB members that might improve their skills in corporate governance, board advisory or boosting board-to-executive team communications?
At the current moment, I'm quite fresh on this topic, so I would be curious to learn from my peers and see what they will recommend to me.
