Jason Collins – Get to know our VAB member

What inspired you to become a member of the Virtual Advisory Board community?

I was invited to join some VAB webinars last year by VAB co-founder Mark Hamill. I have known Mark since 2008. I joined the webinars and enjoyed learning more about advisory boards, meeting new people and sharing insights.


In what area do you feel board advisors can add the most value for Boards of Directors (BoDs) and executive teams?

In my opinion, board advisers offer independent advice that adds the most value through support in forming corporate strategy and its execution focusing on objectives-based advice.


What would be your dream company/organisation to work with as a board advisor/NED?

Working as a board advisor for a European family office.

What book or podcast would you recommend to VAB members that might improve their skills in corporate governance, board advisory or boosting board-to-executive team communications?

I don’t have a specific book or podcast that I would recommend at this time. However, I am looking forward to meeting new VAB members and expanding my business network. Instead of reading, I would love to learn more about individual VAB members’ advisory board journeys and have them share their insights just as I would be glad to share my experience.
